Russian Navy commander announces plans to reinforce Pacific Fleet

MOSCOW. Oct 11 (Interfax) - Russia will continue the process of arming its Pacific Fleet with new weapons and developing its coastal infrastructure, Russian Navy Commander Nikolai Yevmenov said.

"The Pacific Fleet performs important duties within the area of its operational responsibility. The Pacific Fleet's sailors regularly receive new hardware, ships, and submarines. The Pacific Fleet's rearmament and the development of its coastal infrastructure will continue," the Defense Ministry quoted Yevmenov as saying.

Yevmenov paid a working visit to the Pacific Fleet on October 8-10.
