MOSCOW. Oct 15 (Interfax) - Tajik President Emomali Rahmon has said he expects Dushanbe's proposal on drawing up a common list of terrorist and extremist organizations banned in the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) countries to be followed through on.
"We're worried by the activities of a number of organizations banned in our countries, which take advantage of forums of international and regional organizations to vindicate their unlawful deeds," Rahmon said at a summit of the CIS.
"In connection with this, we expect that the idea proposed by Tajikistan last year on drawing up a common list of terrorist and extremist organizations banned in the territories of the member states will be implemented jointly," he said.
"The military-political and humanitarian crisis in Afghanistan has posed a serious threat to the security of our countries," Rahmon said.
Moreover, the Taliban's (banned in Russia) rise to power "has complicated the situation in the country neighboring us even more," he said.
"In this respect, closer coordination is required between our countries' security agencies in opposing the threats emanating from Afghanistan," Rahmon said.
