Progress MS-17 re-docking to Nauka module to take place on Oct 21-22

MOSCOW. Oct 18 (Interfax) - The Progress MS-17 spacecraft will re-dock from the Poisk Mini-Research Module to the Nauka Multipurpose Laboratory Module on October 21-22, Roscosmos said on Monday.

"The separation of the Progress MS-17 spacecraft from the docking node of the Mini-Research Module is scheduled for 2:41 a.m. Moscow time on October 21 on command from Earth," the report said.

"After undocking, the spacecraft will retreat from the station and hover while waiting for calculated ballistic conditions for docking with Nauka," Roscosmos said.

According to the state corporation, the spacecraft will carry out a series of adjusting maneuvers for 29 hours of its autonomous flight, retreating to a distance of up to 185 kilometers from the International Space Station (ISS). The spacecraft is scheduled to dock with the nadir port of the pressurized adapter of Nauka at 7:31 a.m. Moscow time on October 22 using the Kurs automatic docking system.

"All docking stages are expected to take place automatically under the control of cosmonauts on the ISS and specialists from the Operations Control Team for the ISS Russian Segment to prepare the Nauka module to receive the new Prichal nodal module," Roscosmos said.
