MOSCOW. Oct 19 (Interfax) - Russian President Vladimir Putin has had a telephone call with Italian Prime Minister Mario Draghi, Russian presidential press secretary Dmitry Peskov said.
"The president had a telephone call with Italian Prime Minister Draghi today," Peskov told journalists.
The presidential press service said later in a statement that Putin and Draghi discussed preparations for a G20 summit scheduled for October 30-31 in Rome.
"Vladimir Putin has highly praised the work being done by the Italian presidency in this association and said he was willing to take part in the summit via videoconference," it said.
The leaders also exchanged opinions on the outcomes of a review of the situation in Afghanistan at a recent G20 videoconference and addressed some aspects of bilateral trade-economic cooperation.
