Taliban to be recognized as Afghan authorities when they honor majority of their promises - Russian envoy

MOSCOW. Oct 20 (Interfax) - The possibility of international recognition of the Taliban movement, banned in Russia, was brought up at the Moscow-format meeting on Wednesday, Russian Special Presidential Representative for Afghanistan and Director of the Foreign Ministry's Second Asian Department Zamir Kabulov said.

"Of course it was raised. It can't be avoided! But everyone noted, at least our foreign minister also said that, of course, it will happen at some point. But it will happen, and the Afghan delegation said this, when they begin living up to the majority of the international community's expectations regarding human rights and inclusivity," Kabulov said at a press conference in Moscow.
