MOSCOW. Oct 21 (Interfax) - The Knyaz Oleg nuclear-powered submarine fired a Bulava ballistic missile in the White Sea, the Russian Defense Ministry said on Thursday.
"The ballistic missile was fired from the submarine targeting the Kura site in Kamchatka. According to confirmed monitoring data, the missile's warheads successfully reached the designated district at the set time," the Defense Ministry said.
The launch was carried out as part of the submarine's state-commissioned testing, it said.
The Knyaz Oleg strategic missile carrying submarine is a fourth-generation submarine of Project Borei-A.
