MOSCOW. Oct 21 (Interfax) - Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO) Secretary General Stanislav Zas will visit Tajikistan on October 22-24, where 4,000 CSTO troops are holding maneuvers near the Afghan border, CSTO press secretary Vladimir Zainetdinov said on Thursday.
"The secretary general will arrive at the Harb-Maidon training range, located 20 kilometers from the Tajik-Afghan border, on October 23. The final stages of the joint exercises Interaction 2021 of the CSTO Collective Rapid Reaction Force, Search 2021 of the intelligence forces, and Echelon 2021 of the collective forces' logistics forces will take place there," Zainetdinov said.
"Zas will observe the actions of the troops and special units, which will practice conducting a special operation to contain a military conflict on the border associated with attempts made by militants from international terrorist organizations to enter the territory of a member state of the organization," he said.
