Armenia worried by Turkey's involvement as NATO member in 2020 Karabakh conflict - president

YEREVAN. Oct 21 (Interfax) - The involvement of Turkey as a NATO member in the fighting in Nagorno-Karabakh in the fall of 2020 is a serious problem, Armenian President Armen Sarkissian said.

"Meeting with NATO Secretary General's Special Representative for the Caucasus and Central Asia Javier Colomina, the Armenian president said Turkey's active involvement as a NATO member in the 44-day war was perplexing and extremely problematic," the presidential press service said.

Colomina is currently visiting Yerevan as part of his tour of the region.

At the same time, Sarkissian said partner relations with NATO were important for Armenia.

Colomina said the alliance values cooperation with Armenia and attaches importance to political dialogue with it.
