YEREVAN. Oct 21 (Interfax) - Armenian Defense Minister Arshak Karapetyan has pointed at a decline in the levels of confidence in the North Atlantic Alliance with regard to maintaining stability and peace in the region.
"Meeting with NATO Secretary General's Special Representative for the Caucasus and Central Asia Javier Colomina, the Armenian defense minister talked about the role played by NATO member Turkey in the 44-day war against Artsakh [Armenian term for Nagorno-Karabakh], which lowered the levels of confidence in NATO in terms of maintaining regional stability and peace," the press service for the Armenian Defense Ministry said.
Karapetyan outlined the post Karabakh-war security situation in the region and existing threats to Colomina. The sides discussed prospects for Armenia-NATO cooperation, the press service said.
