NUR-SULTAN. Oct 22 (Interfax) - A decision on removing the Taliban, banned in Russia, from the list of terrorist organizations ought to be made by the entire international community, above all by the United Nations, First Deputy Head of the Kazakh Presidential Administration Dauren Abayev said.
"We cannot lift the ban on the Taliban as a terrorist organization. The absence of a ban means permitting our citizens to be supporters of this organization. You have to agree that today it is thoughtless. The Taliban situation only serves to confirm the point that politics is a difficult and often self-contradictory thing," Abayev told the Open Dialogue program.
"Even if its designation as a terrorist organization is lifted from the Taliban, it will probably be a joint decision of the entire international community, above all, of course, of the UN," he said.
