SOCHI. Oct 22 (Interfax) - Russia and Israel have areas of common interest on the Syrian track, especially as regards the fight against terrorism, Russian President Vladimir Putin said.
"Of course, it will be very interesting and useful for me to exchange with you information on the situation in the region. As you know, we have been making efforts to help restore Syria's statehood and to strengthen it. There are also problems here, quite a lot of them," Putin said at a meeting with Israeli Prime Minister Naftali Bennett.
"At the same time, there is also common ground and opportunities for cooperation, especially as regards the fight against terrorism," he said.
There are many issues which the leaders of the two countries can and should discuss, Putin said.
