MOSCOW. Oct 22 (Interfax) - Kyiv's activities are increasingly alarming and confirm that Ukraine is not interested in maintaining the ceasefire in Donbas, Russia's Permanent Representative to the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe (OSCE) Alexander Lukashevich said in an interview published in the Izvestia newspaper on Friday.
"The main problem facing the settlement process in Donbas is Kyiv's actions. They are increasingly alarming, above all as regards the future of our collective efforts here, at the OSCE, to secure a solution to the crisis in Ukraine. We have been watching a tactic aimed at provoking tensions - such an unceremonious and blatant violation by Kyiv of the agreements on de-escalation and the ceasefire," Lukashevich said.
"It is logical that if Ukraine breaches the ceasefire, it is not interested in proper control over it," he said.
"The measures [to strengthen the ceasefire] envisaged the establishment of a coordination mechanism with the help of the Joint Center for Control and Coordination [which has been functioning since 2014] in the current composition, i.e. involving representatives of Kyiv, Donetsk and Luhansk, but its full-fledged launch never happened," he said.
