Putin, Bennett discussing regional security, including Syria, Iran, Afghanistan - Peskov

MOSCOW. Oct 22 (Interfax) - Russian President Vladimir Putin and Israeli Prime Minister Naftali Bennett are discussing the situation in Syria, Iran, and Afghanistan, and their negotiations are going ahead in a warm atmosphere, Russian presidential press secretary Dmitry Peskov said.

At the start of the Russian-Israeli talks on Friday, the leaders exchanged warm words, Peskov told journalists on Friday.

"It's precisely in an atmosphere of warm relations that they started discussing a number of issues, as we've said before, primarily bilateral relations, which have very broad potential, as well as regional security issues, including Syria, Iran, Israel's concerns about its own security, and so on and so forth," Peskov said.

Putin and Bennett also addressed the situation in Afghanistan, Peskov said. "This is an exchange of opinions on the broadest range of issues that is planned for today," Peskov said.
