MINSK. Oct 22 (Interfax) - The Belarusian Interior Ministry intends to publish a list of persons involved in extremist activities, the ministry's press service said on Friday.
"We will soon make another list of individuals (citizens of Belarus, foreigners and stateless persons) involved in extremist activities. It will also be published on the Interior ministry site, but it will take time to process this large volume of information," Vyacheslav Orlovsky, the head of the Main Directorate for Organized Crime and Corruption Prevention, said commenting on the decree issued by the Council of Ministers on October 12 On Measures to Counter Extremism and Rehabilitation of Nazism.
The list will include information on those who have already been convicted for extremist crimes, and it will be regularly updated.
"The information will be stored for five years after convictions are expunged. In that period, they will be prohibited from holding certain posts (state and military service), engaging in teaching, publishing and activities associated with legal turnover of weapons and explosive substances," Orlovsky said.
