Pristina'a decisions to expel Russian diplomats have no legal effect - Russian embassy

MOSCOW. Oct 22 (Interfax) - The decisions of the administration of Kosovo to expel two Russian diplomats have no legal force, and Russia is cooperating with the UN mission on this matter, the Russian embassy in Belgrade said.

"We don't recognize the independence of Kosovo, and therefore, [we don't recognize] the territorial government and other entities. To us, any decisions by Pristina have no legal effect. In accordance with UN Security Council Resolution 1244, we are cooperating with the United Nations Interim Administration Mission in Kosovo (UNMIK), including on this matter," the Russian embassy in Belgrade told Interfax on Friday.

"We consider any attempts to prevent our diplomats accredited to the UNMIK from pursuing their legal activities entirely in line with international law to be unacceptable," the embassy said.
