MOSCOW. Oct 25 (Interfax) - The level of protection of Russia's Okno-M optical-electronic system in Tajikistan has been enhanced against the backdrop of escalating tensions in Afghanistan, chief designer of the space surveillance system (MAK Vympel) Vitaly Goryuchkin told Interfax.
"Definitely," Goryuchkin said in response to the relevant question.
Okno plays an important role in Russia's space surveillance system, as it broadens the space surveillance zone due to its location outside Russia, he said.
