DONETSK/KYIV. Oct 26 (Interfax) - The self-proclaimed Donetsk People's Republic (DPR) has accused the Ukrainian army of an attempt to take over Staromarivka on the Donbas contact line, while Kyiv has reported the death of a Ukrainian soldier.
"The Ukrainian army has tried to take over the town of Staromarivka located on the contact line in the Telmanove district," the DPR Foreign Ministry said in a statement on Tuesday.
Meanwhile, the DPR mission to the Joint Center for Control and Coordination (JCCC) reported an artillery attack on Telmanove on Tuesday afternoon.
"The attack cut power supply to 12 transformer substations, and a hospital, a school, a boiler house and more than 350 households experienced a blackout. A projectile hit the premises of a water service company," the mission said.
For its part, Ukraine reported damage done to six residential buildings in Hranitne in the Volnovakha district of the Donetsk region on Tuesday as a result of a mortar attack.
"Members of illegal armed formations of the Russian Federation fired mortars at the town of Hranitne in the Volnovakha district at about 10:10 a.m. on October 26. The attack damaged six residential buildings. There are no civilian casualties. The attack [...] is continuing," the information policy department of the Donetsk regional prosecution service said.
According to the Ukrainian military, a serviceman of the Joint Forces has been killed and another has sustained a fragmentation injury as a result of a hostile attack in the zone of operation of the Vostok tactical group on Tuesday. The injured solider was taken to a hospital in fair condition, the 93rd Separate Mechanized Brigade Kholodnyi Yar said on Facebook on Tuesday.
