MOSCOW. Oct 27 (Interfax) - Russia is verifying information about the use of Turkish drones in Donbas and is maintaining relevant contacts with representatives of the self-proclaimed Donetsk and Luhansk People's Republics, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said.
"We are verifying this information; it is very difficult to understand what is true and what is fantasy in the recent numerous statements gushing from the authorities in Kyiv," Lavrov said at a press conference in Moscow on Wednesday.
"We are using all available instruments, including direct contacts with Donbas representatives, to verify whether this is so," he said.
"The statements seem to bear relation to the Staromarivka village, which has become a target of a Ukrainian army provocation," Lavrov said.
"As we understand, they have been deterred," he said.
"According to the tentative information, there are no casualties associated with the alleged use of Bayraktar but, on the whole, the situation should give food for thought to all those who indulge Ukraine's capricious demands," Lavrov said.
