Lawyer Pavlov says he's on wanted list

MOSCOW. Oct 28 (Interfax) - St. Petersburg-based lawyer Ivan Pavlov, accused of unauthorized disclosure of information related to a case against a client, journalist Ivan Safronov, has told Interfax that he is now on the wanted list.

"On September 20, the investigator in my criminal case issued a resolution declaring me a fugitive. Even though neither I nor my lawyers have been summoned by the investigator since July and my whereabouts aren't hard to establish: it would suffice to call me," Pavlov said on Thursday.

Pavlov said he learned of his new status from investigator Alexander Chaban, who is in charge of the Safronov inquiry.

Pavlov said it is unclear whether he is wanted at the federal, interstate, or international level.

His name is not currently on the relevant police database.
