MOSCOW. Oct 29 (Interfax) - Members of a far-right community in Russia's internal republic of Buryatia have been detained on suspicion of plotting acts against the authorities, law enforcement agencies, and migrants, the Russian Federal Security Service (FSB) said on Friday.
"Recent measures resulted in the detention of persons who set up a far-right extremist community in the region with the aim of carrying out acts directly targeting representatives of the state authorities, law enforcement agencies, natives of Central Asian countries living in the region, and individual social groups," the FSB press center said in a statement.
"Active work was underway to draw young people, including from educational establishments of the republic, into the group and to spread the far-right ideology among them," the press center said.
A criminal case has been opened against the organizer and three active members of the group on a count of setting up an extremist community and participating in it.
