Rosfinmonitoring busts financial activities of over 15,000 suspected terrorists

MOSCOW. Nov 1 (Interfax) - The Federal Financial Monitoring Service (Rosfinmonitoring), along with other law enforcement agencies, has suppressed the financial operations of more than 15,000 people involved in terrorism, 850 of them are foreigners, the agency's chief Yury Chikhanchin said.

"Recently, we have suppressed the financial operations of over 15,000 terrorists, of whom about 850 are foreign nationals. Almost 100% of assets of all people involved in terrorism get blocked," Chikhanchin said at a meeting with President Vladimir Putin on Friday.

This work is carried out in cooperation with the national antiterrorism committee and other law enforcement agencies, Chikhanchin said.
