Lavrov, Biden discuss possible top-level contacts - Kremlin

MOSCOW. Nov 1 (Interfax) - Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov and United States President Joe Biden continued to discuss an earlier understanding on the need to arrange a Russian-U.S. summit while meeting on the sidelines of the G20 summit in Rome, Russian presidential press secretary Dmitry Peskov said.

"Minister Lavrov had an opportunity to converse briefly with President Biden on the sidelines of the [G20] events. This is important. They continued discussing the understanding reached earlier on the need to arrange top-level contacts," Peskov told journalists on Monday.

"We are of the same view that contacts at the top level are necessary both in terms of our bilateral relations and our dialogue concerning a broader geography," he said.

"The meeting was important, and contacts with the American side will be continued," he said.
