Over 1,000 missile troops take part in anti-sabotage exercise in Altai Territory

MOSCOW. Nov 1 (Interfax) - More than 1,000 troops and 100 pieces of hardware have taken part in an anti-sabotage exercise of the Barnaul Missile Formation in the Altai Territory, the Russian Defense Ministry's press service said on Monday.

"The troops trained the accomplishment of various missions, including maneuvering on combat patrol routes and countering of saboteurs," the press service said.

"A broad range of modern specialized hardware, including vehicles of engineering, defense, security, and radiation, chemical and biological protection forces, was used during the exercise," it said.

A convoy of Yars road-mobile missile systems passed through a contaminated area in the course of the exercise, and radiation, chemical and biological protection forces used ARS-14KM vehicles to decontaminated over 100 pieces of hardware, including autonomous launchers, the press service said.

Now the hardware is on its way to base, the press service said.
