MOSCOW. Nov 3 (Interfax) - Ilya Sachkov, founder of the Group-IB cybersecurity company arrested in connection with a treason case, needs drugs and diet food but has been unable to receive them in the Lefortovo detention center, member of the Moscow public monitoring commission, head of the New People party's Human Rights Committee Alexander Khurudzhi told Interfax.
"I have visited Ilya in Lefortovo. He ran out of drugs and sent an urgent telegram to his mother, asking to replenish the stock, but the telegram was not allowed to be sent and delivered," Khurudzhi said, adding that Sachkov has a chronic disease.
Besides, Sachkov has a stomachache and needs diet food, he said.
The detention center can provide such food, but relevant documents have yet to reach the infirmary.
"Hopefully, a lawyer will soon pay a visit and will be able to solve the problem," Khurudzhi said.
Sachkov has complained about "information vacuum," he added.
"He has been alone in his cell for practically 30 days and has made a complaint, requesting broader information space. There is still a problem with letters: he does not receive them and is unable to send any, while about 120 letters have accumulated to date. He promised he would respond to every letter as soon as he can," Khurudzhi said.
On September 28, Moscow's Lefortovsky District Court placed Sachkov under arrest until November 27 by a motion from the Federal Security Service. The head of the cybersecurity company was charged with committing treason by sharing state secrets with another state. According to the lawyer, Sachkov pleaded not guilty.
Case details have not been disclosed officially, as materials in the proceeding are classified.
According to the company website, Group-IB develops solutions for the detection and prevention of cyberattacks, the detection of frauds, and the protection of copyright on the Internet.
