Russian military medics train evacuation of injured in Tajik mountains

YEKATERINBURG. Nov 3 (Interfax) - Russian military medics from the 451st Hospital have evacuated the mock injured by helicopter during a drill in the Tajik mountains, the Central Military District press service said on Wednesday.

"A Mil Mi-8MTV-5 helicopter and military medics evacuated 'injured' servicemen from an area difficult to access and trained transportation of the 'injured' to an airbase," the press service said.

According to the exercise scenario, one serviceman was severely injured and passed out during the flight. Military medics used the equipment provided by the helicopter medical module to resuscitate him.

The helicopter medical module is designed to evacuate two patients and to provide urgent medical assistance. It contains devices for primary resuscitation actions, such as artificial lung ventilation and stimulation of cardiac activity, and other medical equipment, such as aspirators, syringe dispensers, etc., the press service said.
