MOSCOW. Nov 8 (Interfax) - Long-term contracts for the delivery of S-400 air defense missile forces to the Russian Armed Forces and the beginning supply of next-generation S-500 air defense systems have been discussed at Sochi meetings chaired by Russian President Vladimir Putin, Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu said in an interview with Pavel Zarubin, anchor of the Moscow. Kremlin, Putin program aired on the Rossiya 1 television channel (VGTRK).
"This series of meetings addressed supplies to the Navy and the Aerospace Forces. As to the Aerospace Forces, the defense minister said that the meeting discussed long-term contracts [for] S-400 and the starting date for supply of S-500 systems," the Russian Defense Ministry's newspaper Krasnaya Zvezda said with reference to the interview.
"Long-term contracts for the delivery of Kalibr precision-guided missile systems for surface ships and submarines have also been discussed. A long-term contract for Tsirkon hypersonic weapon systems has already been signed," Shoigu said. The Sochi meetings were also dedicated to marine aviation and the supply of modern hardware to the Russian Navy, he said.
Putin had a series of meetings with the Russian military last week.
