Most Russians would favor LPR/DPR recognition - Medvedev

MOSCOW. Feb 21 (Interfax) - A vast majority of Russians would support the recognition of the self-proclaimed Donetsk and Luhansk people's republics (DPR and LPR), Russian Security Council deputy chairman Dmitry Medvedev said.

"It seems to me that it is very important for sentiments such as these [regarding the republics' recognition] to be expressed by our public, our country's citizens, since we all live in the same house, and all this is related to big processes and to a military component," Medvedev told a Security Council meeting chaired by the Russian president on Monday.

"As far as I know, an overwhelming majority of our country's citizens would support this move," he added.
