Luhansk. February 22. INTERFAX - Kyiv has stopped supplying water to the self-proclaimed Luhansk People's Republic (LPR) through the Western Filtering Station (ZFS) due to an accident at a section of the main water pipeline in Ukraine, the press service for the LPR state unitary enterprise Luhanskvoda said.
"The Ukrainian side stopped its water supply from the Western Filtering Station to the territory of the LPR at 4 p.m. local time on February 21. The reason was the damage of the main water pipeline 1200 mm in diameter from the pumping station ZFS-3 on the territory of Ukraine," the statement said.
Following the accident, the water supply to the LPR-controlled Pervomaisk was completely cut off, as well as the water supply to Stakhanov, Kirovsk, Brianka, Slavianoserbsk, Alchevsk and the Perevalsky district of the LPR was restricted, it said.
