MOSCOW. Feb 22 (Interfax) - Russian presidential press secretary Dmitry Peskov has informed journalists of the sequence of Monday's events handled by the president as regards the recognition of the Donetsk and Luhansk People's Republics.
Reporters asked Peskov on Tuesday to inform them of the timeline of the events hosted by President Vladimir Putin on Monday, mentioning the fact that the time in a video from the ceremony of signing the documents with the DPR and LPR heads was 12:15. Considering this, Peskov was asked whether the documents had been signed before the Russian Security Council meeting.
"Here's what I can tell you: there was the Security Council meeting first, then there were a lot of various contacts, then there was work on the text of the document, then the [president's] address to the Russian [people] was recorded, and then that recording was aired," Peskov said.
"While this recording was being aired, the documents were signed, and the recording of the signing was ready right by the moment the address to the nation was concluded, and so it was shown then," he said.
Asked to clarify whether the signing of the documents with the LPR and DPR heads was not recorded on Monday afternoon, Peskov replied, "No. It was recorded late in the evening."
