BAKU. Feb 22 (Interfax) - Baku demands that Yerevan fully observe its obligation to withdraw the Armenian forces from Karabakh, Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev said.
"We expect Armenia to fully observe all points of the declaration of November 10, 2020 concerning the withdrawal of all Armenian troops from the territory of Karabakh, and also the opening of communications between the main part of Azerbaijan and Nakhchivan," Aliyev said at the ceremony to sign a document on allied relations between Azerbaijan and Russia in Moscow on Tuesday.
Azerbaijan is already working with Armenia in two international formats one year after the war, which indicates positive intentions of the Azerbaijani side, he said.
"The fact that Azerbaijan and Armenia are involved in at least two international formats, namely, a working group at the level of deputy prime ministers of Russia, Azerbaijan and Armenia and the 3+3 site that comprises Russia, Turkey, Iran, Azerbaijan, and Armenia now that a little more than a year has passed [since the end of the 44-day war in Karabakh] already indicates our intentions," he said.
Speaking about the issue of restoration of the liberated territories of Azerbaijan in Karabakh and Eastern Zangezur, Aliyev also said Baku has received 14 requests from Russian companies that wish to operate on these territories.
