Poland receives nearly 1.8 mln refugees from Ukraine - PM's office

KYIV. March 14 (Interfax) - About 1.758 million people from Ukraine have crossed into Poland, the Polish prime minister's office said on Twitter on Monday.

"1,758,000 people fleeing Ukraine have crossed the Polish border since the beginning of Russia's aggression against this country. 82,100 people were cleared by Polish Border Guard officers yesterday," the office said.

Russian President Vladimir Putin announced the start of "a special military operation" in Ukraine on February 24. Western countries have imposed sweeping sanctions on Russia.
