Tochka-U missile kills 20, injures 28 people, including children, in Donetsk - Russian Defense Ministry

MOSCOW. March 14 (Interfax) - Twenty people were killed as a Tochka-U tactical missile hit the center of Donetsk on Monday after being launched from an area controlled by Ukrainian forces, Russian Defense Ministry spokesman Maj. Gen. Igor Konashenkov said.

"Twenty people were killed as a cluster warhead detonated in the center of Donetsk. Another 28 people, including children, suffered heavy injuries and have been taken to medical institutions," Konashenkov said at a press briefing on Monday.

A Tochka-U missile was fired upon a residential neighborhood in Donetsk, at about 11:30 a.m. Moscow time on March 14, he said.

"The city was shelled from the northwestern direction, from the area of the community of Krasnoarmiysk [Pokrovsk], which is currently controlled by Ukrainian nationalist units," Konashenkov said.
