Khabarovsk resident detained in case involving high treason in favor of Ukraine arrested for 2 months - FSB

KHABAROVSK. March 25 (Interfax) - The Khabarovsk resident who was detained in a case involving high treason and an attempt to provide to Ukraine restricted-access information has been arrested for two months, the press service for the Russian Federal Security Service (FSB) Directorate for the Khabarovsk Territory told Interfax.

"The man was arrested and is in custody. The period is two months," the agency said.

Earlier, the FSB said that "during the special military operation on the demilitarization and denazification of Ukraine, having access to classified information owing to his occupation and being driven by lucrative motives, the Khabarovsk resident anonymously reached out to a Ukrainian special service via the Internet to offer information that could have been used to the detriment of the Russian Federation's security, including for committing acts of sabotage, in exchange for a monetary reward."

A criminal case on a count of high treason has been opened against the suspect, it said.

The man failed to realize his intention, the FSB directorate said.
