MOSCOW. April 1 (Interfax) - The Russian Armed Forces have shot down one more Bayraktar TB2 drone in Ukraine, Russian Defense Ministry spokesman Igor Konashenkov said.
"Air defense systems of the Russian Aerospace Forces shot down eight Ukrainian unmanned aerial vehicles in the air over Lysychansk, Donetsk, Chernihiv, Korosun, and Novomykhailivske, including one Bayraktar TB2 drone near Vakhivka," Konashenkov said at a press briefing on Friday.
A Ukrainian Mil Mi-8 helicopter was downed near the locality of Lyubymivka, he said.
The Russian General Staff said on March 25 that in the past month, the Russian Armed Forces have shot down 35 out of the 36 Bayraktar TB2 drones that the Ukrainian Armed Forces had on February 24.
Konashenkov said on March 31 that Russian air defense systems shot down another Bayraktar TB2 drone in the vicinity of Bezymyanne.
The Bayraktar Tb2 is a Turkish medium-altitude and long-range tactical strike drone, developed and manufactured by the company Baykar Makina.
