Medvedev: Response to expulsion of Russian diplomats to be symmetric, destructive for bilateral relations

MOSCOW. April 5 (Interfax) - Russia will give a symmetric response to the expulsion of its diplomats from Western countries, Russian Security Council Deputy Chairman Dmitry Medvedev said.

"And everyone knows the response: it will be symmetric and destructive for bilateral relations," Medvedev wrote on Telegram on Monday evening.

"There are some international traditions that are senseless in nature and won't lead anywhere. Like, for instance, the expulsion of diplomats as a way to put pressure on another country," Medvedev said.

"Who's been punished? Of course, their own people above all. Now they have to look for new jobs for them. What did Russia feel? Nothing," he said.
