FSB reports detention of members of neo-Nazi group banned in Russia planning to kill journalist Soloviev on orders from Ukrainian Security Service

MOSCOW. April 25 (Interfax) - The Russian Federal Security Service (FSB) has reported the detention of members of a neo-Nazi group banned in Russia who planned the assassination of journalist Vladimir Soloviev on orders from the Ukrainian Security Service.

"The Russian Investigative Committee has detained a group of members of the neo-Nazi terrorist organization National Socialism/White Power banned in Russia, who are Russian citizens planning to assassinate public figure and prominent journalist Vladimir Soloviev on orders from the Ukrainian Security Service," the FSB said on Monday.

"The members of the criminal group are providing confessions on preparing Soloviev's assassination, after which they planned to flee abroad," it said.

During searches of the detainees' homes, security operatives seized an improvised explosive device, eight Molotov-cocktail-type improvised incendiary devices, six PM pistols, a sawed-off hunting rifle, an RGD-5 grenade, over 1,000 cartridges of various caliber, narcotic drugs, fake Ukrainian passports with photos of the group's members, nationalistic literature and paraphernalia, it said.
