Restoring relations with West will be difficult and lengthy process - Russian deputy FM

MOSCOW. April 25 (Interfax) - Russian State Secretary and Deputy Foreign Minister Yevgeny Ivanov believes that rebuilding relations with Western countries will be difficult and will take much time under any scenario.

"A way out of this crisis will depend of course on how events unfold further, but, under any scenario, the restoration of diplomatic relations with the West to their previous level will be a lengthy and difficult process, to say the least," Ivanov said on Monday at a meeting of the Federation Council's provisional commission on protecting state sovereignty and preventing interference in Russia's internal affairs.

"At the same time, the majority of countries, including large countries such as China, India and Brazil, support us and perfectly understand what goals Russia is pursuing in Ukraine," he said.
