MOSCOW. July 21 (Interfax) - A Sukhoi Su-25 assault plane and a Mil Mi-8 helicopter belonging to the Ukrainian Air Force have been shot down in the past day, Russian Defense Ministry spokesman Igor Konashenkov said at a press briefing on Thursday.
"Fighter jets from the Russian Aerospace Forces shot down a Ukrainian Air Force Su-25 plane in the vicinity of Kramatorsk in the Donetsk People's Republic [DPR]," Konashenkov said.
Apart from that, Russian air defense systems downed a Mi-8 helicopter belonging to the Ukrainian Air Force near Pervomaiske in the Mykolaiv region, as well as five Ukrainian unmanned aerial vehicles, he said.
"A total of 260 [Ukrainian] combat planes, 144 helicopters, 1,577 unmanned aerial vehicles, 356 anti-aircraft missile systems, 4,135 tanks and other armored military vehicles, 762 multiple launch rocket systems, 3,174 field artillery weapons and mortars, and 4,413 specialized military vehicles have been destroyed since the start of the special military operation," Konashenkov said.
