Russian investigators already opened over 1,000 cases on crimes committed by neo-Nazis in Ukraine - prosecutor general

DUSHANBE. July 25 (Interfax) - The European Union prosecution services ignore crimes committed by neo-Nazis in Ukraine, though Russian investigators have already opened more than 1,000 cases on them, Russian Prosecutor General Igor Krasnov said.

"Unfortunately, many prosecution services, especially in the EU countries, have long refused to notice the facts of crimes committed by neo-Nazis against civilians in Donbas; they still neglect them, though Russian investigators have opened and are investigating over 1,000 criminal cases on them," Krasnov said at a meeting with Tajik President Emomali Rahmon on Monday.

"But it is pleasing that the supervisory agencies of the Commonwealth [of Independent States] retain a sober view of what is going on. I am convinced that the vector of constructive development of our relations will continue and with joint efforts we will be able to effectively counter the threats facing Russia and Tajikistan," the Russian prosecutor general added.

Krasnov arrived in Dushanbe on Monday on a working visit. The Russian prosecutor general plans to discuss the protection of minors' rights in the information space, the fight against cybercrimes and environmental protection.
