YEKATERINBURG. Aug 19 (Interfax) - An electronic countermeasures unit of the 201st Russian military base in Tajikistan has trained the suppression of a mock enemy's control channels, the Central Military District press service said in a statement on Friday.
"The specialists have trained electronic countermeasures at the Lyaur range. Radio, radio-relay and satellite communication channels, including channels used for control and data transmission of reconnaissance and attack drones, have been suppressed," the statement said.
They also trained the search for, detection and suppression of radio-electronic signals in all frequencies, including those reserve, it said.
"The exercise involved over 100 troops and more than ten pieces of special hardware," the statement said.
The 201st Russian military base, deployed in Tajikistan, is Russia's largest military facility outside its national territory. The base is part of the Central Military District. It is located in Dushanbe and Bokhtar and includes motorized infantry, tank, artillery, reconnaissance, air defense, radiation, chemical and biological protection, and signals units.
