MOSCOW. Sept 6 (Interfax) - Eleven HIMARS system missiles have been intercepted in the vicinity of the Kakhovka Hydroelectric Power Plant (HPP), Russian Defense Ministry spokesman Igor Konashenkov said on Tuesday.
"A Tochka-U ballistic missile was intercepted near the populated locality of Popasna in the Luhansk People's Republic and 11 missiles of a U.S.-made HIMARS artillery rocket system were intercepted near the Kakhovka HPP," Konashenkov said.
Russian air defense systems have shot down 12 unmanned aerial vehicles of the Ukrainian army over the past 24 hours, he said.
A total of 290 Ukrainian combat planes, 152 helicopters, 1,889 unmanned aerial vehicles, 373 anti-aircraft missile systems, 4,845 tanks and other armored military vehicles, 825 multiple launch rocket systems, 3,369 field artillery weapons and mortars, and 5,343 specialized military vehicles have been destroyed since the start of the special military operation in Ukraine, Konashenkov said.
