Forward observer directing drone attack on Enerhodar administration detained - authorities

MELITOPOL. Sept 8 (Interfax) - A forward observer directing a drone attack on the building of the Enerhodar administration in the Russia-controlled part of the Zaporizhzhya region has been detained, the city administration said, quoting local law enforcement agencies.

"A forward observer who provided the coordinates and directed the drone strike has been detained in hot pursuit. He is undergoing investigative procedures," an administration representative told reporters.

As reported earlier, the Ukrainian army attacked the building of the Enerhodar administration using a kamikaze drone carrying an improvised explosive device at about 1 p.m. Moscow time. The drone hit the roof of technical operation of air conditioning units, causing an explosion and sparking a fire that was rapidly contained. There are no casualties.

According to the Russian Defense Ministry and the Enerhodar authorities, attacks on the nuclear power plant and the city have been conducted almost daily since mid-summer.
