DPR hands deceased British mercenary's body over to Kyiv

DONETSK. Sept 9 (Interfax) - Donetsk has handed over to Kyiv the body of British national Paul Urey, who fought on the side of Ukraine and died at pre-trial detention facility, Darya Morozova, human rights commissioner of the Donetsk People's Republic (DPR), said.

"The body of captive British mercenary Paul Urey, who died from chronic illnesses in one of the facilities of the penitentiary system of the republic on July 10, 2022, has been handed over to Ukraine recently," the press service for the DPR ombudsman said in a statement released on Friday.

The DPR said earlier in July that British national Paul Urey, who fought on the side of Ukraine and was held captive in the DPR, had died. According to official information, the cause of death was chronic illness.
