Putin briefs CSTO on Russian efforts towards de-escalation of Armenian-Azerbaijani border tensions

MOSCOW. Sept 14 (Interfax) - Russian President Vladimir Putin has briefed the Collective Security Council of the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO) at a special session on Tuesday on the additional steps towards de-escalation of tensions on the Armenian-Azerbaijani border.

"Russian President Vladimir Putin informed Collective Security Council members about the additional practical steps by the Russian Federation to de-escalate the current tensions," the CSTO press service said.

The session heard a detailed, frank exchange of views, it said.

"The mediating efforts of the Russian Federation aimed to stabilize the situation in the region gained full support," the press service said.
