MOSCOW. Sept 15 (Interfax) - Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov will speak at the UN General Assembly session and will have a series of meetings on the session sidelines, Russian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Maria Zakharova said.
"The new session of the General Assembly opened on September 13. This year, the Russian delegation is led by Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov," Zakharova said at a press briefing on Thursday.
"In the course of the general political debate of the General Assembly, which will take place on September 20-26 this year, he will speak at a General Assembly meeting and will take part in a series of bilateral meetings and multilateral events," she said.
"The schedule of the Russian minister is being elaborated. About 20 bilateral meetings are planned, and these are just the requests we have received to date," Zakharova said.
