Macron speaks of readiness to facilitate Armenia-Azerbaijan dialogue in phone call with Pashinyan

YEREVAN. Sept 16 (Interfax) - French President Emmanuel Macron told Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan during a phone call that he is ready to facilitate dialogue between Yerevan and Baku, the Armenian government's press service said on Friday.

"Pashinyan briefed Macron on details of the situation that emerged as a result of Azerbaijan's aggression against the sovereign territory of Armenia. Pashinyan noted that the situation remains very tense," the press service said.

The Armenian prime minister also emphasized the need for the international community's reaction to the current developments.

Macron, in turn, "announced a readiness to facilitate dialogue [with Azerbaijan] and peace," it said.
