Kazakhstan to extradite Russians wanted for dodging partial mobilization to Russia - Kazakh interior minister

ASTANA. Sept 27 (Interfax) - Russian citizens evading the partial mobilization declared in Russia will be extradited by Kazakhstan to Russia if they are put on the wanted list, Kazakh Interior Minister Marat Akhmetzhanov said.

"We and Russia have agreements on extending legal assistance, on convicts' exchange and on the extradition of criminals. The main principle here - both in our country and in Russia - that it is a criminal offense. Furthermore, if they are put on the wanted list [...], we will find these persons and will extradite them to Russia," Akhmetzhanov said when asked whether Kazakhstan will find Russian citizens dodging the partial mobilization and will extradite them to Russia.

As reported earlier, since September 21, when the partial mobilization was declared in Russia, 98,000 Russian citizens have arrived in Kazakhstan and more than 64,000 have left it.
