The referenda on the entry of the DPR, the LPR, and the Kherson and Zaporizhzhya regions into Russia as constituent territories took place on September 23-27.

On the first days, the voting was held in public areas and at home. Members of elections commissions visited voters at home. Polling stations opened on the last day of the referendum. The procedure derived from security considerations.

The referenda were declared valid after the third, one but last day of voting, when the turnout exceeded 50% in all the four regions.

People in the LPR and the DPR were asked whether they support "the republic's entry into Russia as a constituent territory." Voters in the Zaporizhzhya and Kherson region were asked, "Do you agree with the region's secession from Ukraine, the establishment of the region as an independent state, and its accession to the Russian Federation as a constituent territory."
