MOSCOW. Nov 24 (Interfax) - Russia and Turkey are considering the possibility of enhancing the South Stream gas pipeline's defenses against terrorist attacks, Russian presidential press secretary Dmitry Peskov said.
Peskov's conference call with journalists on Thursday touched upon the Russian Federal Security Service's earlier report that a terrorist act had been prevented at the South Stream pipeline.
When asked whether against this backdrop and in the wake of what happened at the Nord Stream pipelines the Russian and Turkish leaders are discussing the possibility of strengthening the South Stream pipeline's defense against terrorist attacks, Peskov said, "They are considering it. There is such a need, because a potential threat does exist."
