MOSCOW. Nov 24 (Interfax) - Moscow would have been ready to accept French criticism of Russian missile strikes on Ukraine if Paris had condemned Ukrainian artillery strikes on civilian infrastructure in Donbas, but this is not happening, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said.
"We are ready to accept such statements only if similar statements are made to condemn Ukrainian artillery strikes on civilian infrastructure and residential buildings in Donbas, which have been on since 2014. We have not heard a single condemnation by the French leadership," Peskov said at a press briefing on Thursday.
Journalists asked Peskov to comment on a statement by French President Emmanuel Macron, who said that Russia should be punished for missile strikes on Ukraine.
The Russian Defense Ministry said on Thursday that Russian forces delivered another massive strike on Ukrainian military and energy facilities on November 23.
